MONDAY MOTIVATION

"Sometimes you don't need words to feel better; you just need the nearness of your dog." - Natalie Lloyd About a month ago, we were several weeks into the stay home, stay safe lockdown. I was feeling a little "blah". I wasn't nearly as productive as I normally am. I mean, being stuck at home is really an opportunity to get those projects done that you've been holding off on. But, my drive just wasn't there. I already worked from home before, but the lack of schedule, the uncertainty, the sharing the home office with my husband that started working from home full time were disruptions (read: excuses) for my lack of discipline. But then, we got our puppy, Kyann Pepper Mint. And she wakes me up VERY early to go outside. She makes me laugh. She is playful and sweet. She stays with me all day long at my feet. And we go on a daily drive around the neighborhood and sometimes, if she's lucky, we go to Starbucks to get a Puppuchino. And then, without realizing it - I have gotten more projects and work completed in the past 3 weeks than I had the previous several months. You could argue that I'm more productive because I'm getting up at ungodly hours each morning, or because we are used to our new normal with COVID. But, I'm going to give Kyann credit. I think I'm smiling more and happier because of her. I mean who can't smile at a totally uncoordinated puppy running towards you with their little ears flapping in the wind? It was my husband's idea to get her. I actually wasn't in the mindset or the market for a pup. He says I've stolen his dog from him. I say she's stolen my heart. Have a great week, everyone! Kristin
